Dear parents and students,
This upcoming week is a busy one involving many French activities, as it is our annual " French as a Second Language Week," with the theme 151 raisons de choisir le bilinguisme! We will be having a school Carnival on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with both indoor and outdoor activities, so students should be dressed to go outdoors if the weather looks cooperative. However, if it is too cold, we will have the carnival indoors. That means our skating date has been cancelled for Tuesday, Feb. 6. Our school Improv Team will play their last home game after school on Monday, Feb. 5, but their game against St. Elizabeth on Wednesday, Feb.7 has been cancelled. Students on the Improv team will play against teachers on Thursday afternoon. Also, on Friday, February 9th, all my class of Grade 5 students will come and watch Le grand match (Improv games) at Miller High School. The bus will pick us up at 10:40 and we will return back to school at 3pm . That being said, all students will need to bring their snacks and lunch, as we will remain at Miller for the majority of the day. Parents, grandparents , family and friends are welcome to come and watch (it goes from 11:35-2:35), however, there is not set schedule of what time we will be playing. Books and Bagles: Wednesday, Feb 7 @815-845, grade 4-8 students are invited for the first Books and Bagels of 2018. Pre-registration is required to ensure adequate amounts of breakfast is purchased. Mme Wood will come to classrooms Monday to pre-register students. 1 bagel (with cream cheese/butter) and 1 juice will be provided/student. Students are invited to bring their own book for the morning ... Happy reading! Looking forward to celebrating the French language and culture with our students. God bless, Mme Fischer

I have given students an extension on the TLWW art project until Tuesday, Jan. 30 (students have 2 more work periods.) I have asked students to make sure they have a "homework buddy" in class, so that if they miss school for more than a few days, their buddy will have all their work ready for them on their desk when they return. Next week, the Grade 5 classes are supposed to be going skiing on Wed., Jan. 31, I will inform you via Remind or email if it is cancelled. Any students in Impro, also have a game at St. Kateri that day, so unless they make arrangements to be picked up at St. Angela after school and transported to St. Kateri, they will not be able to attend that game (Improv bus leaves at 2:50, and students skiing will not return to St. Angela until 3:20/25 that day.) The students continued to work on their French Hero project, and will have this week to work on it, as it is due for Monday, January 15th.

A few things about Mme Fischer....
I am very excited to be entering my 4th year at École St. Angela Merici , and my 23rd year of teaching. I love travelling, being active and spending time with my two wonderful children, family and friends. I am thrilled to be a Connected Educator who will help guide students to become responsible Digital Citizens, while using a variety of technology tools .
